Visiting the Home Town
May 5th, 2009
I was invited to be the photographer for a senior banquet hosted by my home church this past weekend. What a great time it was! I saw people I haven’t seen in years and reconnected. We all need to do this from time to time, reconnect, remember, reminisce. It’s good for the soul. When you remember where you started it helps you figure out where you’ve been and where you are headed.
The speaker for the event was a graduate of my high school and she said she is always telling people she’s from this big city called Vandalia Missouri. Well, maybe not big in numbers, but big in heart, in love and in friendship. Those of us fortunate enough to have come out of Van-Far know what she’s talking about. There’s a lot to be said for a small town, sure everything has it’s down side, but I choose to look at all of the positives. In my hometown, I learned what being a neighbor is all about, what it means to help a friend, and that it is great to live where everybody knows your name…and your mom and dad’s names, too!
Thank you Vandalia for always having open arms to welcome those of us back who have left for a time. It’s always good to come home!

Spring is almost here!!
March 4th, 2009

Very, very soon we will begin seeing the first signs of spring. Tulips will begin to peek through the ground before breaking forth into their glorious color. I can’t wait! This means I can spend more time outdoors snapping pictures. Spring is the time of new birth, renewal, a do-over. Who doesn’t need any of those? I have been working on a few new services over the long winter and I’m excited to share them with you. Keep your eyes open for the announcement of a new program coming very soon, you might say “it’s about to be sprung!”
If you haven’t scheduled your photo session for springtime, schedule soon and don’t forget about those adorable Easter pictures. I am beginning to book in late April and May and Saturdays will be hard to come by. I look forward to seeing you through my lens this spring…winter’s almost over, hang in there.
Birthday Girl Photo Session
January 21st, 2009
This was my very first 1 year old photo session and boy was it a blast! Allison is such a cutie and a dream to photograph. The session lasted just about a hour and a half and she was the perfect angel the whole time. She didn’t quite know what to think of the cake. Really, I think she was a true lady, not wanting to get very messy! Thank you to Allison and her mom for making this first experience an enjoyable one.

I am currently working on some packages for my new line entitled “Twelve Months of Baby”. There will be three levels of the package available to meet any budget. Twelve Months of Baby will focus on the all important first year of life and feature monthly, quarterly or semi-annual photo sessions during the first year with the culmination being the 1 year birthday photo session. The packages will include photos with each session, a hard-cover album with full color images from all of the sessions and a DVD of images set to music. Watch for more information coming soon.
Happy 2009 Everyone!
January 7th, 2009
We are beginning another year. For me, 2009 marks several events. The big one being, my daughter’s graduation from high school. Where did the time go? Our family also has several friends getting married this year and a few babies on the way. I know there will be lots of photo opps at those events!
As for business, it is good. I have three upcoming photo shoots for January and always looking for more. Just because it’s cold and yucky outside, don’t put off getting those family or child photos taken. I am putting the finishing touches on my in-home studio and it works nicely for a small family and quite well for one person portraits. Give me a call and book today.
I am looking forward to taking a short road trip very soon to photograph the eagles feeding on the Mississippi River near Louisiana and Hannibal. It is a magnificent sight if you haven’t witnessed it. Take the time and enjoy the drive. You won’t be sorry. I will share some images as soon as I have them.
Another Family Session…
December 22nd, 2008
Well, it’s almost Christmas and I am still doing photo sessions. This gorgeous family was a pleasure to work with. The boys are cute as buttons with personality to match! I hope you enjoy these photos and remember, it’s never too late for pictures. Don’t put it off, cement those moments forever in pictures. You’ll be glad you did.
I wish all of you, old clients and new, a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!
It's Official, the new website is up and running…
December 16th, 2008
Wow, what a job it is to get a new site up and running! All of the uploading, downloading, reloading, etc! It is mind-boggling for sure. It is finally up though and I love it. I have you stop by soon for a visit and let me hear your thoughts.
SPECIALS: Right now I am running a promotion for wedding photography. The first three (3) weddings to book and pay deposit in 2009 will receive a 50% discount! WOW, what a deal. Who doesn’t need to save a little on the wedding? I have already received some inquiries and hope to be booking the dates very soon.
Christmas is getting very close…more shopping to be done. Then wrapping and baking and oh my, I’d better get busy. See you soon and Merry Christmas!!

Ashley '09 Collage
November 3rd, 2008
The ideas are positively endless. Creativity abounds when you begin thinking about collages. Collages are groupings of photos put together into one layout. They are a wonderful way in which to view several photos at once without the need to print many photos and frame them all. This is just one of the areas which I shine. I have many years of graphic design/layout experience and this paired with my photography make a dynamic duo. Talk to me about creating a custom collage just for you. What fun it will be!
